I write this with a heavy heart. The last couple of years have found me with a progressively debilitating spinal column and joint problems. If it were just me, I would never ask, but I have 2 young daughters that look to me for support, so I have to swallow my pride...
If you are in a position to help, I have setup an account to accept donations, even as little as the price of a coffee. Anything would be greatly appreciated. See my "About" page on Flickr for the link. Thank you.

The idea for this picture came while I was exploring the wonderful Authors Point sim and trying different windlights against the scenery. One - from Torley Linden - is called 'Burnt hope' and from then on it all fell together 'organically'. Especially the pose that I made on the spot and which is supposed to express quite some mixed feelings at all those burnt hopes that we all know.

Stay well and safe Flickr friends.
“They say a good love is one that sits you down, gives you a drink of water, and pats you on top of the head.
But I say a good love is one that casts you into the wind, sets you ablaze, makes you burn through the skies and ignite the night like a phoenix; the kind that cuts you loose like a wildfire and you can't stop running simply because you keep on burning everything that you touch! I say that's a good love; one that burns and flies, and you run with it!”

This burnt forest at Bryce Canyon shows slow recovery but offered an eerie but beautiful photo opportunity against the clearing storm cloud backdrop.
Trunks of dead conifers near Torridon village, Scotland. The trees were destroyed in a wild fire in 2011..
