An ambitious Heritage Trail, featuring landscaping and an outdoor educational area.

We have designed an exciting new Heritage Trail at Ingestre Hall in Staffordshire. Formally home to the Earl of Shrewsbury, this is a magnificent Grade II* listed building. It features part Jacobean, has Nash rear façade and grounds designed by Capability Brown.

The Heritage Trail comprises fifteen points of interest. These are situated between installations - called Follies - crafted in the style of traditional English Country House landscaping. Some of the Follies were in the form of furniture and a further few were audio-visual projections situated within the Hall itself.

The intention of these sculpted Follies is to bring added activity and interest to the grounds. In turn this will encourage attention to the gardens and maintenance of the existing mounts and overall site. While the concept of sculptured Follies is historic, their appearance here is of a contemporary design with elements responding to the historical context and function.

This is especially true in the case of the Observatory Folly. Built as a response to the observatory that Walter Chetwynd used for his astronomical observations. It also pays homage to his friend Sir Christopher Wren, who shared this same interest and was a fellow at the Royal Society.

Meanwhile, the Camera Obscura is another very different Folly altogether. It demonstrates a very direct way of engaging with the functions a Folly may offer. In this instance a form is featured that creates a darkened space to see an image of the Hall.

Cludeo likes having her tummy tickled and has the softest fur of any cat I have ever met... some cats would sink all four sets of claws in you if you tried this!

To be great is to be misunderstood. -- Ralph Waldo Emerson

Of all of the wedding presents received almost 38 years ago, I didn’t think this one would be the survivor of many house moves, babies, parties etc. My Dad used it as an ashtray, we called it the Beattie ornament after the family that gifted it, I always thought it could be a murder weapon in Cludeo it’s so heavy and here it is, still here, and actually I’m now quite fond of it now, a piece of my family history.

Here is my contribution to the Clue show which was held recently at Gallery 1988.

The show is based on the movie which was based on the popular board game of the same name. (unless you are from the Uk like me and know the board game as Cludeo.)

This one is a bit more abstract in some ways and can also be seen on Gallery 1988's website

We have three Dwarf Russian Hamsters - Cluedo here is the only boy and was running around on the sofa.

Out of curiosity I brought up a Furry Friday shot of one of his girlfriends.

Blam - he made a beeline for my laptop!!!

Coincidence probably. But it made us all smile!!

I just had to get a picture of Cludeo in LOAD somewhere (even if its a bad, grainy Instagram shot!) and what more appropriate for the prompt of suspect!

Journaling:

Sadly, our weekly game night has turned into more of a monthly event. We do still enjoy playing; the usual suspects being Cludeo, Uno, Pictionary and Monopoly. Without a doubt our favourite is the new version of Cludeo; where Holly and I try our hardest to beat Kev!

(and I'm so proud of myself, I made the little date tab, LOL!!)

Some time ago, Mr Dave Gorman asked his twitter followers if they played a game....

He then wiped the floor with me (and my mother) at Cludeo®

We got Cludeo from the Cats Protection League as a kitten. She has a cheeky goofy personality, and is a complete klutz - more like a puppy than a cat!

The theme for my exam in my AS year was Mystery and Imagination. Therefore I created portraits of the Cludeo characters each holding weapons that are included in the popular board game.

The theme for my exam in my AS year was Mystery and Imagination. Therefore I created portraits of the Cludeo characters each holding weapons that are included in the popular board game.

These are some of my larger experiments where I have been exploring scale and controlling the sponge football.

This is somewhat close to how I see the final outcome but I still feel the image may be more appealing at a larger scale allowing more space for the line to not swamp the Cluedo imagery.

This is the start of my current project for A2 level in Product Design; I have come up with the idea of making a board game and have chosen the client Disney. This page helps introduce my project and subtopics involved such as: Situation, Design Brief, Marketable Product, Lifestyle profile and the Client. The situation explains how board games have proven popular over the years however due to modern technologies they are not as popular anymore and how the designs and tactics of playing board games have changed over the years, this varying from the simple race and chase game to the more complex games which have a narrative and a theme such as Cludeo. I feel designing a board game that has a unique edge which help appeal to the consumers and make them want to buy the game.

My design brief for this project explains how I have been approached by Disney to produce a new board game which consists of the theme of Disney Princesses. This particular product will be targeted for 5-12 year old girls and will expand the current Disney Princesses range. The Design also includes a few musts in which I must have in my board game. The marketable subheading explains how the product would be marketed around the globe due to the popularity of the franchise, that I will have to carefully select or design the graphics in order to fit into different cultures, the text would also have to be changed to different languages depending on the country it is marketed and sold in. There is a range of variety in which the product could be advertised and marketed including; billboards, posters and television advertisements.

After choosing my client as Disney, under the subheading I explain a bit about the company such as when the company was founded (1923). I also explain the Walt Disney’s franchise of Disney Princesses which was produced in 1999. The lifestyle profile is about a young girl called Emma, this giving an example of the target market in which I am aiming my product for and a bit about her life. I also made a mood board, which is a college of images which I feel reflects what my target market would be interested in, which could help me come up with some designs for the board game, inevitably enabling me to aim/appeal my product to them.

The Interior of a château about 80k out of paris. It really reminds me of cludeo.
