If you're looking for a peaceful and picturesque setting, you can't beat a golf course. The actual game of golf, maybe not so soothing.....

As we drove around 17-Mile-Drive on the Monterey Peninsula of California, we passed by this green on a golf course on the Pacific Ocean. The vegetation in the rough on this par 3 looked unforgiving.

...into a brandnew, colourful year! Let's do it in style and swinging like Duke Ellington did.
This is also a heartfelt THANK YOU to those of you who have been there for me during the last tough year! With your friendly support, thoughtful comments and always kind words that kept me on track.
You guys are the reason for me still being on good ol' Flickr!:-))
"Knowing when and how to change course is important to success. Self-doubt is a lighthouse that will keep you from running aground. Don't become shipwrecked on the rocks of time. Be willing to rethink your decisions and change course."

Long shot of Split Rock Lighthouse on Lake Superior's North Shore. The historic Minnesota and Lake Superior icon went into service in 1910 and was decommissioned in 1969. It has been an extremely popular North Shore destination since the highway was being developed in the 1920's.
The lighthouse is on Lake Superior's North Shore, not far from Two Harbors, Minnesota.

Hi an image from about 15 months ago at a local golf course. Thanks for looking and have a great week :):)
..."The time is with the month of winter solstice
when the change is due to come
thunder in the other course of heaven
things cannot be destroyed once and for all
change returns success
going and coming without error
action brings good fortune

On the south side of the MacRitchie Reservoir is a rather plush looking golf course. We saw some very pretty looking birds here but they were far too shy to have their picture taken sadly
If there's one place that consistently takes my breath away, it'd be Cley, of course. This was a difficult shot because I was shooting into the sun. The bench looks very grand. It has a fabulous view over the marshes.

I am the fury and the force
I am the river and the source
Behold the Cerberus
Guns and gas and gods"

AMSTELVEEN - The Bosbaan is a rowing lake situated in the Amsterdamse Bos (Amsterdam Forest) in Amstelveen. The Bosbaan (Woods Course) is the oldest artificial rowing course in the world.
The course was built in 1936 as part of an employment project and originally had five lanes, but was then widened to six lanes in 1954 when Amsterdam hosted the European Rowing Championships, the first international event where women were allowed to participate as elite rowers.
Following a major renovation in 2001, the Bosbaan measures 2200 metres in length, 118 metres across and features 8 lanes. In this reconstruction the boat storage facilities were also doubled in size.

(les girafes ne préviennent pas et ma vue est mauvaise, c'est seulement sur l'ordi que j'ai vu le défaut de cadrage. Un trop bon moment, rarissime, alors je poste quand même le cliché)
Bonne semaine à tous
Course task.
A capture from a walk a take often with the dogs. Experimenting with colour and layers. Not my type of processing (too harsh) but putting it up anyway. Live & learn as they say

Things have been a bit crazy around here in the past few weeks, and I haven't had any time for photography or Flickr. I'm feeling fully inspired though... both to go out shooting again... and to catch up on all my contacts' photostreams!
I captured the two images that make up this Vertorama shortly after sunset yesterday... somewhere along Race Course Way... heading out of Durbanville in an Easterly direction.
Nikon D300, Sigma 18-200mm at 44mm, aperture of f22, with a 4 second exposure.
