I don't know exactly what it is either...
It's an artwork I saw in the Japanese pavilion of the Venice Biennale in 2003. I loved the lack of colour, the snaking cables, the feeling that it is old and futuristic at the same time.
I think it says CRM 114 on the side. When I searched for that on google, I found japanese sites about Stanley Kubrick, but I don't understand the connection.

Dog mountain trail on the Washington side of the Gorge.
From Portland take 84 East to the Bridge of the Gods, right on 14 for 12 miles.
Big parking lot on the left hand side.
I recommend taking the harder trail (to the left, then splits to the right with signs)
because this hike is very popular and there was less traffic on the harder trail.
Taking the popular way back down there's a right turn a little ways in that is just a bit steeper, again with lesser traffic.
Currently sits underneath the Museum of the Moon* exhibit at Charles Rennie MacIntosh's only church, this relatively simply decorated building is a delight. Aka The Macintosh Church, the commission was given to Honeyman and Keppie architects, by the Free Church of St Matthew, Glasgow.
