Green River Launch Complex approximately five miles from the entrance to the site. The launch bunker and 3 concrete launching pads each with a rail-movable temperature-controlled steel building make up the main part of the Athena launch portion of the huge (3,450 acre) missile base.

Gantry Plaza State Park is a 12-acre state park on the East River in the Hunters Point section of Long Island City, in the New York City borough of Queens
Last night I went to Gantry Park for a different view of the NY skyline. I tried a different composition here to make up for the dark cloudless sky.
Always a pleasure wandering about Gantry Plaza State Park, located on the shores of Long Island City, Queens . . . Was a longish shoot, mainly because of a panorama (the views from the park are oh so conducive for capturing distant Manhattan’s shoreline, sigh) . . . Actually bit chilly, was alone for the most part . . . Quality shoot, definitely need to hit this spot another time to wrap things up; was focusing more on the northern most point of the park) . . . Pleasure sharing a few samples . . .

The overhead lighting gantry is fixed into place. All Dan has left to do is put up the lights
I think it looks rather sinister. like something from "The Terminator". Between our house and here is less than 100 Metres and there are two of these at least two sets of cameras and those strange square concrete things that I have not seen before. "Big Brother" is watching you.
