Most morning glory flowers unfurl into full bloom in the early morning. The flowers usually start to fade a few hours before the "petals" start showing visible curling.

Ipomoea nil is a species of Ipomoea morning glory known by several common names, including picotee morning glory, ivy morning glory, and Japanese morning glory. It is native to most of the tropical world, and has been introduced widely.
Native to Central America and Mexico, the plant is a climber with twining stems up to 5 m long and is densely to scattered with long hairy trichomes. The finely hairy, emerald green leaves are ovate to almost circular, 5 to 14 cm long. The base is heart-shaped, the edge is entire or lobed three to five times, the leaf lobes are pointed or tapering.
The funnel-shaped, colorful flowers (blue to reddish purple, with whitish tube) are quite showy and are individually up to five in often dense cymose groups, in which fully developed flowers and developing buds stand together. They open in the morning and close by the afternoon. The long, thorny hairy sepals have a length of 15 to 25 mm, they are long lanceolate and have a linear-lanceolate tip. The crown is blue, purple or almost scarlet red. The throat is often colored white. The crown tube has a length of 3 to 5 cm, the crown hem has a width of 4 to 5 cm.
The fruits are almost spherical to spherical capsule fruits with a diameter of 8 to 12 mm. The seeds are pear-shaped and densely covered with short trichomes.
I captured this multi-ring glory from our plane as we were approaching Ushuaia, Argentina. If you look carefully at the inner shimmering ring on the right middle you can see the shadow of our airplane.

The Morning Glory Pool is one of the most amazing hot spring, located on the upper Geyser Basin of Yellowstone NP.
Morning Glory season has just started in our area and these are some of my favorite wildflowers. As the garden colors have faded, I let these beauties run wild and cover large areas. This image has some dew drops and single lost ant looking for its morning coffee. I have five different colors and In the very early morning, I have a blast of color in total quiet. My favorite time of day!

These lovely flowers were on the shrine of St. Christopher at a small Catholic church in Korona, Florida. I believe they're Morning Glories. It was a lovely, but very hot day when I was there taking pics of the beautiful shrine, and they added some color to the drab stones nearby.

Hello Everyone!
While out on a walk, the beautiful colour combination of the Morning Glory and Love-Lies-Bleeding caused me to try and capture a few images. I didn't get too far because the neatest thing happened! A beautiful, friendly cat kept rubbing herself against my legs and purring like mad. I became too distracted to take any further photos, but I felt quite fortunate to have had such a delightful moment in time. Some mornings are colourful on many levels, lucky me!

Morning glory (also written as morning-glory) is the common name for over 1,000 species of flowering plants in the family Convolvulaceae. Most morning glory flowers unravel into full bloom in the early morning. The flowers usually start to fade a few hours before the petals start showing visible curling. They prefer full solar exposure throughout the day, and mesic soils. Because of their fast growth, twining habit, attractive flowers, and tolerance for poor, dry soils, some morning glories are excellent vines for creating summer shade on building walls when trellised. It was first known in China for its medicinal uses, due to the laxative properties of its seeds. 34712

I have Morning Glory vines all over the veggie and the flower garden. They re-seed and can be invasive, but they sure add color to the early morning coffee. I cut some and made a little arrangement to have a fun something to do. They fade almost as fast you cut them, so there was some trial and error involved.
