This shot was taken from the rooftop of a building in Lisbon’s historic city enter.
From this perspective you have a view over the old downtown commercial area (known as “Baixa”) which is nowadays recovering its beauty with the maintenance works done on old buildings. In the distance you can see the top of the arch overlooking the Praça do Comércio and the river.
Being Lisbon my home town, my opinion is obviously biased, but I find this city, its light and ambience truly magnificent.

This shot was taken at sunset from the rooftop of a building in Lisbon’s historic city center.
It provides a view of the beautiful hillside’s colourful buildings that are so typical of the picturesque neighbourhoods of Alfama and Castelo.
Lisbon’s castle stands on top and all the image is enveloped on a beautiful sunset’s golden light.

The Rossio Railway Station, originally known as Gare do Rocio, and also Lisbon Central Station, is an interface of the Sintra Line, being one of the main stations in Lisbon, the capital of Portugal. It is located next to Rossio Square, in the city center. It began to be planned and built in the 1880s, as a branch of the Waist Line, having been inaugurated on May 18, 1890.

Europe, Portugal, Lisbon, Centre, Eléctrico, Driver, Passenger (cut from T)
Armchair travelling to delightful Lisbon. We were riding a Lisbon tram late in the evening here. The tram is of the 'remodelado' type. Most of them were built in 1936-1940 and modernized in the mid 90’s. They are powered by two Metrovick 45 hp traction engines and weigh 10 metric tons and can carry some 58 passengers (20 seated and 38 standing).
The most famous Eléctrico line is 28 which climbs & clatters its way up through Alfama and gives you a good, cheap and thrilling tour of the city.
A closer view of an eléctrico driver and his workspace is here.
This is number 177 of Lisboa & Ouitra banda and
29 of Eléctricos.
The Santa Justa Lift was opened on July 10, 1902 and is the only vertical lift in Lisbon providing a public service. It is a work of architect Raoul Mesnier du Ponsard, with a cast iron structure, enriched with filigree. Now a National Monument.
This shot was taken from the rooftop of a building in Lisbon’s historic city enter. On the top of the hill, overlooking the city, stands the castle.
