"It comes down to reality, and it's fine with me cause I've let it slide.

I don't care if it's Chinatown or on Riverside.

I don't have any reasons.

I left them all behind.

I'm in a New York State of mind"

Manhatten at night

New York City, also known as "The Big Apple". New York State's largest city, although not the capital (that would be Albany). Manhattan is New York City's most densly populated area, also the most famous one. Lots of high rises here as this is probably the business capital of the world. Standing out among the buildings is the Freedom Tower which was raised after the 9/11 attacks. I took this picture from Liberty Island and I will be posting more of lower Manhattan in the future. Stay healthy during this pandemic time. Wash hands and avoid gatherings as much as possible.

Just a picture out of my mind. It is very different from what i'm used to do. I hope it will please your glance.

We have many images of New York, from the sea or other classical views. I wanted to expose this one because, it gives an other point of view on the city.

Some folks like to get away

Take a holiday from the neighborhood

Hop a flight to Miami Beach

Or to Hollywood

But I'm taking a Greyhound

On the Hudson River Line

I'm in a New York state of mind

This photograph was taken from Hoboken at dawn looking across the Hudson River towards Greenwich Village and Soho. It was a wonderful dawn with a memorable view of New York. With relatively calm conditions, the resulting reflections on Hudson River was captivating.

Another slide restoration which takes us to New York, almost 54 years ago.

I'm pleased with how this has come out as it was so dark viewing the slide to the light.

In very faint writing are the words 'South Ferry' on the cardboard mount; so much time has passed and older buildings are replaced with modern larger ones I have no idea how many of them are here today.

Perhaps someone with local knowledge could comment on how much change has taken place here since 1966.

This night photograph was taken from Hoboken looking across the Hudson River towards Lower Manhattan. The Freedom Tower (One World Trade Centre) stood as the tallest building in New York City. The Freedom Tower and some of the high-rise buildings were brightly lit, highlighting the vibrant city scape.

Continuing with my more people-oriented portrait of New York. How much more 'people' can you get than an outdoor, Summer, vegetable market ? Lower Broadway meets 14th Street in a distinctive New York City park, the west and north side of which becomes that farmers' market.

Just 2 streets south of here on Broadway at East 12th is the famous "Strand" bookstore. "18 miles of books" a sign says on the store front. I spent over 4 hours in there and could've probably burned up a couple more. It's an astounding universe all it's own. A booklovers paradise.

This photograph was taken from Hoboken looking across the Hudson River towards Lower Manhattan. The Freedom Tower (One World Trade Centre) stood as the tallest building in New York City. The sun rays of early morning were reflected off the glass facades of the Tower and other adjacent buildings. The reflections in Hudson River provided complementary interests to the cityscape.
