Hand is now open to the public in Sansar after eight months of building. I would like to acknowledge the generous support of the Ontario Arts Council. Hand was built for virtual reality using headsets such as the oculus rift, but it can also be navigated by your computer.

So the first thing you need to do is install Sansar if you don't already have it.

You can do that here...

Then you can find "hand" by searching for Bryn Oh and it should pop up or try this

I have a Many friend... But i got Oculus Rift S... I can't stop playing it... xD

Take me out for somewhere!!

Lavy & Lance travel to a dark sky location, setup their tent and sleeping bags, lie down, and observe the spring night sky in the northern hemisphere. The winter constellations such as Orion, Gemini, Taurus, Canis Major are all lower in the sky now and the spring constellation of Bootes is rising higher and higher in the sky.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, a lot of resources are scarce, chief amoung them, toilet paper. This photo shows the elation at us managing to get some as we rush home with the prize.

Digging in the crates...

For those of you avidly hoping to see one of the additional 3D prints* (I cannot keep up with my husband's creations), this is a double-AA battery holder.

I asked him to step outside under the aspen trees to hold the new rectangular holder (two batteries within) under dappled light.

Some of you probably know (I do not) how easy it is to misplace batteries that cannot stay within your Oculus gizmo** or some-such thingy. The batteries lose their charge. Hence, this design.

*The term 3D printing covers a variety of processes in which material is joined or solidified under computer control to create a three-dimensional object, with material being added together, typically layer by layer. (My husband's printer is rather inexpensive, just to try new things.)

**The Oculus Rift is a virtual reality system that completely immerses you inside virtual reality...(I have absolutely no idea: I feel queasy trying VR. I don't know if he has an Oculus Rift.)

And anotherone for Junebot.

This time a real drone. This thing is actually lifesize. The original Quadcopter by Revell got no camera, but I added it for fun.

Such small Drones for only 70€. The Fuuuuutuuuure is noooooow! (whoever got that reference, ill give a digital cookie.)

Also, if you controll it, it features Oculus Rift with up to 5 Oculusses simultaniously. ('nother reference)

Editor Anthony Nielsen tries the Oculus Rift while a visiting team from CUNY, Annie Berman and Tim Whitney, look on.

Last night I went to an open house event at the Internet Archive in San Francisco. They chose the date 2015-10-21, the day when Marty McFly and Doc Brown arrived in the future.

The Internet Archive is a nonprofit digital library with the stated mission of "universal access to all knowledge". It provides free public access to collections of digitized materials, such as web sites, software applications/games, music, movies/videos, moving images, and nearly three million public-domain books. As you can imagine, this requires a huge amount of storage - now over 15 petabytes. In addition to its archiving function, the Archive is an activist organization, advocating for a free and open Internet.

There were stands with hands-on demos on book scanning, playing vintage games, and playing 3-D video games with the Oculus Rift virtual reality goggles. We then were ushered upstairs to the big hall for presentations - the building is a former church. At the evening they presented the first Internet Archive Hero Award to the Grateful Dead, which were pioneers in sharing. The Internet Archive is a truly visionary organization let by Chairman Brewster Khale.

The Internet Archive is using our TWiki collaboration platform to coordinate work internally. Thank you for using TWiki!

Checking out VR. My son brought home both of the latest VR developers kits for the Oculus Rift and the HTC Vive. This is my daughter using the Vive to play a kinda of space invaders game. Extra challenging because they shoot back and form all around you. Here she is using a gun and a shield simulated by the two hand held wireless controllers. We tried so many of the demos out, we were tired afterward. Really cool though.

We are going to be setting up our own virtual reality lounge IRL!

VR headsets look creepy when someone else is wearing one. Here I was trying to amplify that sense with some slightly cheesy post-processing.

Best friends, Daisy, Lavender, Chopsy, enjoying an autumn campfire on a girls night out

In 1997 I went to Sibundoy, a municipality in Putumayo department in Colombia. This place became very popular after William S. Burroughs came to the region to experience the mind-expanding powers of Yage ( Ya-hey ) To this place comes many people around the world to try the ayahuasca or a hallucinatory drug compared with LSD.

I did try 2 cups of this drink and after few minutes I started experiencing all kind of weird feelings and visions. I closed my eyes and I could see some images that impressed me because they felt like virtual reality, nowadays like you have an oculus rift on.

The first one was seeing the crystal of the Notre-Dame cathedral in Paris from inside. In front of me was this enormous beautiful purple crystal illuminated by daylight and I started to fall down and then vanished. The most amazing fact is that I wasn’t there before. I found out later searching on the internet for this cathedral purple crystal.

The second one was seeing myself sitting on a boat that was navigating in a place surrounded by mountains, the boat had a kind of head in front ( prow ). I felt that went up and down. I saw my legs, they were very strong.

Another sensation was that I was so light, like floating and this is weird to say but I felt the energy of another people that were around and my body electricity noises. Music, shadows or figures of animals, people, and voices of many people that spoke at the same time like you stand in a public place and everyone is talking loud.

Had Someone experienced this ayahuasca or something like that?
