The deceased who are portrayed in the relief and remembered in the inscription are: C. Rabirius Hermodorus and Rabiria Demaris, both perhaps freed slaves of Greek origin formely belonging to an illustrious personage of the age of Caesar. Usia Prima, called "priestess of Isis" (3rd from the right), may have been a descendent of the couple. The sistrum and patera are symbols of the Egyptian cult of the goddess Isis.
