Attic hydria from Ialyssos, Rhodes, decorated on the shoulder with a scene depicting the fight between Hercules and the Nemean lion. The hero is represented naked and bearded. Athena and Hermes are watching the fight. The goddess is armed (spear and crested helmet). Hermes holds a long caduceus with his right hand, and wears a short tunic, conical pilos and winged shoes. A frieze of tongues painted with different colors, separates the top of the scene from the hydria black neck.

The main scene shows a departing quadriga, bearing a charioteer, dressing a white tunic, and a bearded character. Near the horses a warrior is standing; he wears a crested helmet and holds a large round shield. In front of the horses, a cloaked youth. Two bands of ivy leaves encloses laterally the scene.
