Yunnan, Baida terraced rice fields at late afternoon on a perfect overlook. Some moving sunspots over the terraces made nice reflections.

Outside Asia, Madagascar has the longest history of rice production. Wetland rice production systems are well developed and rice terraces are frequently found along the roads between Antananarivo and Antsirabe. Rice cultivation is found in almost all districts of the country.

I often go to Rice Lake ... here I used a mix of texture to create a photo that is not "regular" , not sure what word to use to describe it. Maybe you like, maybe you don't like.. I enjoyed working on it. A few more winter pics this week. Very cold morning but sunny days for us now. Have a very good week.

Passez une très bonne semaine.

A cute Rice Fish is swimming in an umbrella with rainwater. Exciting to return to something like a child! If you stare at it, you may forget that time has passed ..

Last sunday over the Longsheng Rice Terraces (Dragon's Backbone), also called the Longji Rice Terraces. They are located in Longsheng County, about 100 kilometres (62 mi) from Guilin, Guangxi, China.

We were happy to see this landscape just before the harvest, which was postponed for a few days due to a festival.

Hello everyone,

The terraced fields are built along the slope winding from the riverside up to the mountain top, between 600 m to 800 m above sea level. A coiling terrace line that starts from the mountain foot up to the mountain top divides the mountain into layers of water in spring, layers of green rice shoots in summer, layers of rice in fall, and layers of frost in winter. The terraced fields were mostly built about 650 years ago.

Longji (Dragon's Backbone) Terraced Rice Fields received their name because the rice terraces resemble a dragon's scales, while the summit of the mountain range looks like the backbone of the dragon.

In early June, water is pumped over the rice paddies and young plants are transferred to the main terraces.

A little health problem since a month with my back, but I am better and I am back. Sorry I'm late, I'll respond to each of your kind comments🙏

This picture was taken in July 2020. I was lucky enough to be able to see the rice field from my window, so when the rice planters arrive, I have a front row seat.

These 2 young men are throwing the rice bunches into the rice field, and then the female planters come in right behind to plant them. This will be the next picture.

I wish you all a great week. Thanks for your visits and comments❤️

A change of country for the next set. In December 2018 we visited the island of Bali for our Christmas holidays.

Terraced rice paddies are a common sight throughout Bali.

Rice paddies below one of Shanghai's main power supply routes.

The power lines are actually the reason that there are still some rice paddies, below the line no construction is allowed, for obvious reasons...

Leaving the Malagasy capital, Antananarivo, from the south via the N7, one of the few paved roads (I don't say in a good condition) of Madagascar, in the direction of Antsirabe, the landscape changes quickly.

Hills and paddy fields are emerging, dotted with hamlets with houses with red brick walls and thatched roofs. It is the Highlands region. The people, "those who inhabit the heights" or Merina, are excellent farmers.

The Merina people, a Malayo-Indonesian ethnic group, use traditional methods to cultivate their rice paddies in the plains surrounding the villages.

Their language is the basis of the current and official Malagasy language.

Rice paddies now take up two-thirds of the country’s cultivated area.

Madagascar is the second-leading per capita consumer of rice in the world (about 246 pounds, or 112 kg, per capita per year, behind Myanmar at 462 pounds, or 210 kg), but it is not a major producer (producing 2.8 million tons, it ranks approximately twentieth in the world).

Happy Macro Monday to all flickr friends, HMM

I cook the rice like pasta. Use a large pot of salted water and cook it until it's al dente, then drain well.

It is a good way to get rid of starch.

Place it back on the burner that had been turned off, cover with the lid and let it continue cooking for 15-20 min.

Add butter or oil if you want to, and you'll have any volume you like of fluffy rice with separate grains.

Morning light emerges in the paddy fields of Lamphun Province, a mountainous agricultural region of Northern Thailand.

For a long time the country has imported rice of average quality while exporting a high quality variety. Rice, wheat, and corn are the three most consumed grains in the world.

The farmer pulled up the rice from the shallow water, just the start of a long day of work. Unbeknownst to him, a group of blue knights were on their way to change his life forever.

My entry to the Kindoms at War 2 Collab with aggressively_Canadian, for RebelLUG! It was quite enjoyable to work on a scene and fiddle with the small things that didn't look right, but overall I'm very happy with the result! The writing in the top right should say "Down the path" in Japanese, but if it's incorrect please let me know!

And of course, a huge thanks to KitKat1414 for editing the photo.
