Fancy Route and Flow Analytics

I had a chance to run a demo of the Peakflow system from Arbor Networks at the office.

This things are pretty cool.

The box on top connects with an internal router to get a feed of your network's internal routing table while simultaneously acting as a Netflow collector. By joining these two datasets together over time, it can make a really rich dataset to perform traffic analysis on.

The box on the bottom is used to analyze malicious traffic by having the box on top source a BGP announcement to direct traffic to the box on the bottom. This box can then inspect the packets that are flowing to weed out malicious traffic while passing on the legitimate stuff.

Very useful for DDOS attacks.
