Horseshoe Bend
Here, the river just about makes a full circle. The white dots in the water are boats. The hike to this is about 3/4 of a mile through sand. When we got here, little bugs started biting us. My wife looked for about 10 seconds and said she would wait for me up the hill. I took pictures for 15 or 20 minutes and hurried away.
Very few people (other than photographers) come to see Horseshoe Bend. No one was there during our visit. If this was located in the eastern United States, it would be a major attraction.
This was made by stitching 2 photos together. Taken at Horseshoe Bend, just a little south of Page, Arizona, U.S.A. (CRW02098-9)
