State Opening October 2019

Parliament’s official photographer was in the House of Commons today for the State Opening of Parliament and the debate on the Queen’s Speech. When the debate on the Queen’s Speech was opened, Lee Rowley MP proposed the motion for an Address (thanking the Queen for the speech), which was seconded by Sarah Newton MP. After this the Leader of the Opposition spoke followed by the Prime Minister before the debate was opened up.
