NGO Consultation before US Presentation to the CAT

A multi-agency U.S. delegation including representatives of the Departments of State, Justice, Homeland Security, and Defense met with civil society representatives at the United Nations in Geneva one day before the U.S. presentation to the UN Committee Against Torture. The United States considers civil society consultations crucial to the process of implementing our obligations under the Convention Against Torture, as well as other human rights obligations and commitments.
