HRC Panel Discusses Elimination of Violence Against Women

The Permanent Mission of the United States to the UN co-sponsored a side event with the African Group in the margins of the 29th Human Rights Council session, focused on preventing and eliminating violence against women. Ambassador Keith Harper opened the panel which included the following speakers: Jodi Gillette, former Special Assistant to the President for Native American Affairs, Ambassador Delmi Boudjemaa, Permanent Representative of Algeria and African Group Coordinator for Human Rights, Veronica Birga, Chief of the Human Rights & Gender Section of OHCHR, and Princesse Micheline Makou Djouma of OCAPROCE International.
