Women’s Voices in the Media: Changing the World

On Tuesday, May 29, former Managing and Executive Editor of The New York Times Jill Abramson led a discussion on “Women’s Voices in the Media: Changing the World.” She highlighted the work of prominent women journalists and the challenges she faced as the first woman to rise to the top at the one of the world’s most prominent newspapers. In a lively exchange with audience members, she offered her thoughts on the changing media landscape and expressed optimism for the future of the industry and women’s leadership in it. Professor Elisabeth Prügl, Director of Gender Studies at the Graduate Institute, gave opening remarks, and U.S. Mission to the UN Counselor for Public Affairs Todd Pierce moderated the discussion. Tuesday’s program kicked off the “Women in World Affairs” speaker series jointly hosted by the Graduate Institute of Geneva and the U.S. Mission. The series will showcase the accomplishments and perspectives of prominent American women who are leaders in their fields.
