Report on Burundi

The report of the UN Independent Investigation highlights the increasingly dire human rights situation in Burundi. “We call on all sides to put an end to human rights violations and abuses,” said U.S. Ambassador Keith Harper, after the presentation of the report to the Human Rights Council September 27 by independent experts: Mr. Pablo de Greiff, Mr. Christof Heyns, Ms. Maya Sahli-Fadel. “We firmly believe that this crisis can and must be resolved, or Burundi risks descending into further conflict, including the possibility of mass atrocities.”
