Ambassador Harper Meets with NGO Leaders

Ambassador Keith Harper, U.S. Permanent Representative to the Human Rights Council, met with representatives of Human Rights NGOs in Geneva January 10 to thank them for their essential work at the Council and around the globe in promoting and protecting human rights. “One thing that has become ever more clear to me during my tenure is the incredible importance of civil society in making this system work,“ Ambassador Harper said. “People around the world are impacted by the Council’s work. A robust civil society voice is essential.” Ambassador Harper will depart Geneva in the coming days to return to the private sector.
