WTO Trade Policy Review of the United States

Ambassador Michael Punke, Deputy United States Trade Representative and U.S. Permanent Representative to the World Trade Organization, addresses the WTO on the second day of the 2016 Trade Policy Review of the United States which is taking place on December 19 and 21. Surveillance of national trade policies through the Trade Policy Review Mechanism is a fundamental part of the work of the WTO: all WTO members are reviewed, the frequency of each country’s review varying according to its share of world trade.
