Assistant Secretary Ford Delivers Remarks at Conference on Disarmament Plenary

U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for International Security and Non-proliferation Dr. Christopher A. Ford delivered remarks at today’s Conference on Disarmament (CD) Plenary. He described key elements of the U.S. Initiative, “Creating an Environment for Nuclear Disarmament” and welcomed the participation of other countries in this initiative. U.S. Ambassador to the Conference on Disarmament Robert Wood moderated the discussion. Other panelists included Permanent Representative of Brazil to the CD Guilherme Patriota, Permanent Representative of the Netherlands to the CD Robbert Gabriëlse, and Permanent Representative of the United Kingdom to the CD Aidan Liddle. The United States currently holds the CD Presidency.
