U.S. National Statement 34th Session of the HRC

Erin M. Barclay, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for International Organization Affairs, delivered the U.S. national statement at the 34th Session of the Human Rights Council in Geneva. “We must always bear in mind that human rights are universal, and that every state has a duty to promote respect and accountability for these universal rights,” Barclay said.

 

“Together, by turning our attention consistently to the most critical human rights situations, we can make progress and help this body fulfill its mandate to make the world a better, safer place.”
