Human Rights Council Opens 37th Session
The United Nations Human Rights Council opened today focusing the world’s attention on serious human rights situations in North Korea, Iran, Burma, South Sudan and Syria among others. Acting Assistant Secretary of State for International Organization Affairs Molly Phee is in Geneva for the opening of the session and will deliver the a statement outlining U.S. priorities on February 28. The United States is firmly committed to working with partners at the Council to promote and protect human rights and fundamental freedoms.
