Missing – Testimonies of Syrian Women Deprived of Liberty

Roger Carstens, U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Democracy Human Rights and Labor, participates in an event to focus attention to the dire situation of detainees, missing persons and their families and relatives in Syria, and in particular to the women amongst them, who suffer the most grievous violations and abuse. The event, co-sponsored by the U.S. and European Union, was moderated by Meskerem Geset Techane, chair of the Working Group on Discrimination Against Women, and featured testimony by four women from Syria.
