Venezuela: Threats to Free and Fair Elections in 2020
Venezuelan elected officials and human rights and humanitarian activists spoke out at the United Nations in Geneva today about their hopes for free and fair elections in 2020. The Maduro regime’s shameful attempts to demolish democracy in Venezuela must end. The time is now to demand that the Venezuelan people be allowed to choose their own leadership. The panel moderated by Ambassador Andrew Bremberg included speakers: Miguel Pizarro, Presidential Commissioner for the Legitimate Government of Venezuela to the United Nations; Angel Medina, Elected Member, Venezuelan National Assembly; Francelia Ruiz, from the NGO CONVITE; and Dr. Julio Castro, Doctors for Health.
