International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Council Reception for Doreen Bogdan-Martin
Doreen Bogdan-Martin, the U.S. candidate to become the next Secretary-General of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), set out her vision of a connected world at an event for delegates to the ITU Council.
Bogdan-Martin, a globally recognized leader with 30 years experience in the Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) sector, is leading efforts to improve global connectivity and make the digital future more inclusive.
"She has outlined a compelling vision for the ITU’s future," said Ambassador Sheba Crocker, U.S. Permanent Representative to the U.N. and International Organizations in Geneva. "That vision builds on her demonstrated dedication to bridging the digital divide, focusing on development for all. In addition to her deep commitment to this institution and its work, she has a proven track record of leadership, and a focus on results and impact that we believe is needed for the ITU to address future technologies and challenges."
