Ministerial Side Event on the Aggression Against Ukraine
On 27 February, on the margins of the 52nd session of the Human Rights Council, Ukraine and its partners organized a Ministerial side-event to mark one year since Russia’s illegal invasion. The event opened with an address by the Foreign Minister of Ukraine, Mr Dmytro Kuleba and keynote addresses by French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna, and the Foreign Minister of Costa Rica, Arnoldo Andre. The discussion focused on the scope of the unfolding human rights and humanitarian tragedy in Ukraine and around the world and to discuss ways to strengthen the collective response. It also highlighted international efforts to support affected populations, protect human rights and promote accountability for abuses of human rights and violations of international humanitarian law.
