Joan Baez Visits UN Geneva

Legendary American singer, songwriter, artist and activist Joan Baez visited the United Nations Office in Geneva June 28 for a tour that included a visit to the Human Rights Council Chamber with U.S. Ambassador Michèle Taylor. Ms. Baez is in Geneva for the opening of the Art in Embassies sponsored exhibition "A More Perfect Union: American Artists and the Currents of Our Time" at the Xippas Gallery. Also joining the tour were artist - climate activist Alexis Rockman and actor-writer Kal Penn. Many thanks to the UN Information Service and Visitors Service for the informative tour with a special focus on works of art in the UN buildings.
