Assistant Secretary Thomas Countryman Briefs Media on Results of 2013 NPT Prepcom

Thomas Countryman, Assistant Secretary of State for International Security and Nonproliferation, briefed the media at the United Nations in Geneva on the results of the Second Session of the Preparatory Committee to the 2015 Review Conference of the States Parties to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT). In his remarks he highlighted the firm commitment U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry gave to the NPT, key non-proliferation challenges facing the international community, and the significant progress made in developing peaceful uses of nuclear energy.
