Shardae Skenandore reads a fact sheet distributed during a nutrition education class with Hailey Wynos, Sarah Shawanokasic, Mary Knope, Director, Food Distribution Center, Menominee Nation, Sheena Arnold, University of Wisconsin Extension and Jennifer Gauthier, Nutritionist, College of Menominee Nation. The class is sponsored by the Menominee Tribe in Wisconsin, the class helps participants make better choices when buying food and planning meals and is held in cooperation with the University of Wisconsin Extension, Menominee County funded through a United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Food and Nutrition Service (FNS), Food Distribution Program Nutrition Education (FDPNE) grant, on September 10, 2014. Students in the class are also eligible for the Food and Nutrition Service, Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations (FDPIR). The fact sheets provide storage, preparation tips, nutrition information and offer recipes for food available through the fact sheet information may also be found at:
