Red and White
The two carriageways of M62 split around the Stotts Hall farm.
There is a well-known urban legend that the planners of the motorway
had to build it around the farm because the owner refused to sell their land; in reality this was done due to the geology of the area.
This view can be seen by reaching a hillside on a small and well-hidden public footpath. The first time I saw this place was during my trips to Manchester and Liverpool a few years ago and I was fascinated by it since then. Unfortunately, I was only able to get here just now, when I finally bought a car. Nevertheless, the view was worth the wait :)
