The printer Brügger Meiringen produced exquisite hotel labels for almost 50 years, beginning around 1895. Most of the labels in this set were rendered by Arnold Brügger. Brügger was the lead illustrator for the printer and also had a successful career as a fine art painter. His work was influenced by the modern art movement s of Cubism and Fauvism. These labels were printed using stone lithography which gives the artwork great detail and brilliant color. This set is organized in a rough chronological order with the earliest labels first. Many thanks to Thomas Wangler, an ebay seller of Brügger labels (collectors*lab) and also fellow collector Mark Smith, who both allowed me to use some of their scans for this set.
