Colorado—where you can legally gamble, buy booze and marijuana on a Sunday, but you can't buy a car. All car dealerships must be closed on Sundays, one of Colorado's few remaining "blue laws".

 

And, yes, that's real gold on the dome. The roof is constructed of copper panels that are gilded with gold leaf from a Colorado mine, added in 1908 to commemorate the Colorado Gold Rush.
