Standing on the edge
My favorite jacket, bag, pants, flip-flops - all in one place. Oh yeah, and that dress thingamajig that I don't think is really a dress. More like, some funky long black piece of fabric with sleeves. Yeah, I know. But I saw it and thought, Hmm, I could do something with this... [It's called strategic pinning. With one safety pin.]
You can't see the front of my bag, but I colored it orange with a permanent marker. The same day I bought it. Good times.
Can't get better than red and black. Those pants used to be straight-leg, and I hated them and never wore 'em. Finally, I recently bought a yard of the red fabric (I think it's some sort of heavy satin, embroidered with black), undid the seams on the sides of the pantslegs, and sewed in the red fabric to make 'em flares. Good estuff. My cousin and favorite partner-in-crime, Somayya [whose nickname, ironically, is Princess Pretty Pants], now refers to these as my "Elvis pants." This makes me laugh every time I think about it.
